Educating for the Future, Building Communities
The Educational Services are particularly concerned about schoolchildren and teenagers, and for this reason, they have been working on initiating and implementing educational projects in collaboration with them for years.
To discover the methods of access and visits reserved for school groups and to arrange specific educational paths, teachers are invited to contact the Educational Services of the Musei del Bargello
Activities
Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO)
“Art Ambassadors” Project
The Bargello Museums offer the opportunity for some classes in the final three years of secondary schools in Florence and the surrounding province to participate in the “Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation” program, with the educational project “Art Ambassadors.”
This is an educational experience through which young people have the opportunity to become aware of the value of their cultural heritage, refining their historical, artistic, and communication skills, and coming into contact with specific professions in the world of cultural heritage.
Students are involved in an educational journey of study both inside and outside the classroom and are invited to deepen their knowledge of a cultural asset to be presented to visitors in both Italian and other European languages. During their preparation, various meetings with different professionals are planned, both with specialized educational operators for the training aspect and with representatives of the internal professions operating in the field of the cultural asset under consideration. The project concludes with an operational phase in which the students guide visitors through a series of itineraries within the various museum locations.
Speakers Corner
The Bargello Museums, through their Educational Services and the Communication Office, created a special section on the Musei del Bargello Facebook page in 2020, during the SarsCovid19 pandemic phase, called Speakers Corner, dedicated to young people, children, teachers, and professors.
This open space is conceived as a place for meeting, dialogue, and sharing, where various materials (stories, audio, reflections, images, ideas, creations) created for and, under exceptional conditions, with our young “visitors” find a place. These materials are always inspired by works, stories, and environments related to the Bargello Museums and the collections they house.
Many of the projects carried out in collaboration with schools in recent years have found the visibility and recognition they deserve in this section, which can also be accessed from the Musei del Bargello Facebook page. To plan together, please contact the Educational Services of the Bargello Museums.
Educational Visits
The Educational Services of the Bargello Museums offer schools of all levels the opportunity to organize paths and itineraries for visits and in-depth study.
